PROGRAMS

We utilize a combination of multidisciplinary staff including: physicians, social workers, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, massage therapists, and attorneys.  Services rendered include:

  • Clinical Individual Torture Treatment Program - Direct mental health and social services to torture survivors and their families.  All services are rendered in client’s native language.  Comprehensive services include:
    • Medical advocacy
    • Intensive case management
    • Forensic asylum exams
    • Advocacy for asylum case testimony
    • One on one mental health services
    • Legal consultations
  • Community Resiliency and Family Teaching (CRAFT) Project  - Empowerment of survivor communities through support groups that focus on self-sufficiency, family strengthening, leadership, education and health promotion.  Services are rendered in group’s native language.  Groups are currently offered in the Afghan and West African communities.
  • Utah Trafficking Assistance Program – Comprehensive victim centered services are provided through a network of local and state service agencies, coordinated through UHHP offices.  UHHP provides intensive case management and mental health services to victims, as well as training and capacity building to local and state agencies on trafficking-related issues.
  • Education and Advocacy Program- Education and outreach to the general public and healthcare community to build awareness of torture, human trafficking, refugee, and human rights issues.
